IG Global Tour in Türkiye: From Exhibition Connections to Active ProcurementIssuing time:2026-10-28 16:20 An on-the-ground market visit revealed new demand across industrial gases, steel making, cryogenic equipment, hydrogen and specialty gases-while laying the groundwork for Türkiye National Theme Day at IG China 2027. From October 11 to 16, the IG Global Tour Organizing Committee conducted a new round of business visits in Türkiye, continuing its efforts to connect Chinese gases-industry companies with international buyers and project opportunities. Following the participation of leading Chinese gases value-chain companies at IG Türkiye in September 2025, this visit focused on following up procurement demand, strengthening relationships with major Turkish companies and identifying new areas for industrial cooperation. From Exhibition Contacts to Signed Business The delegation, led by Committee Director Frank Xu, visited HABAS Group, Türkiye's largest domestic industrial gases company, and CRYOCAN, the country's largest pressure-vessel manufacturer. During meetings with the CEOs and senior teams of both companies, the delegation exchanged detailed information on market prospects, procurement requirements and potential cooperation with Chinese suppliers. ![]() Turkish Industry Leaders Invited to IG China 2027 Another key purpose of the visit was to formally invite HABAS and CRYOCAN to participate in the Türkiye National Theme Day at the 2027 International Gases Industry Chain Trade Fair (IG China 2027). Frank Xu delivered official invitation letters to both companies. Each expressed positive interest in travelling to Hangzhou in June 2027 to meet Chinese manufacturers, equipment suppliers and industry partners. Türkiye National Theme Day is planned as a focused platform for procurement briefings, technical discussions and targeted business matching between Turkish buyers and Chinese gases-industry companies. New Air-Separation Demand from Türkiye's Steel Industry The delegation also visited two major Turkish steel producers to better understand local industry conditions and demand for air-separation equipment. According to 2025 World Steel Association figures, Türkiye produced 38.1 million tonnes of crude steel, ranking seventh globally and first in Europe. Turkish steel products are widely exported to Europe, including Eastern Europe, as well as the Middle East and Africa. The country also imports considerable volumes of billets and other semi-finished steel products. Imports from China fluctuate with international steel market conditions but have remained at the hundreds-of-thousands-of-tonnes level in recent years. This industrial scale creates continuing demand for oxygen, nitrogen, argon and related gases-production equipment. Several major Turkish steel companies have already purchased equipment from leading Chinese air-separation manufacturers. Additional steel producers have also approached the committee to request introductions to qualified Chinese suppliers. These discussions indicate opportunities for companies supplying air-separation units, compressors, cryogenic equipment, gases storage and transportation systems, process control equipment and related engineering services. Understanding the Packaged Gases Market During the visit, the delegation met with the Turkish subsidiary of Gulf Cryo, one of the UAE's largest industrial gases companies. Gulf Cryo entered the Turkish market in 2013. Its products, including bulk industrial gases and carbon dioxide, serve customers across Türkiye and are also exported to neighbouring markets. The visit provided further insight into local distribution networks, customer applications and the equipment requirements of an expanding packaged gases market. ![]() Creating Practical Connections for Chinese Suppliers The visit gave the committee direct access to the operational priorities and procurement requirements of leading Turkish companies. Rather than relying solely on general market information, the delegation held face-to-face discussions with industrial gases producers, equipment manufacturers, steel companies and end users. These meetings helped clarify where Chinese equipment, technologies and manufacturing capabilities may meet actual local demand. The opportunities identified during the trip cover several segments:
The committee will continue to follow up with Turkish companies, clarify their requirements and connect suitable Chinese suppliers with relevant decision-makers and procurement teams. Looking Ahead to Hangzhou in June 2027 The Türkiye visit represents another step in the IG Global Tour's efforts to turn international engagement into practical business cooperation. Several leading Turkish companies visited during the trip expressed interest in attending IG China 2027 and participating in the concurrent Türkiye National Theme Day in Hangzhou. The exhibition will provide a dedicated setting for Turkish companies to present procurement requirements, meet Chinese suppliers and explore cooperation across industrial gases, cryogenic equipment, air separation, hydrogen, pressure vessels and specialty gases. Companies seeking to understand Türkiye's industrial gases market—or possessing equipment and capabilities relevant to the identified requirements—are invited to follow IG China 2027. Further procurement information and business-matching opportunities will be released as preparations progress. |
